This year was the Flo-Go Camp that was entrenched in building and driving our mutant vehicle known as the "Ice Flo", a giant iceberg with a forlorn yet stoic polar bear and penguin drifting across the playa sea.

Wed, November 7, 2007 - 12:00 PMBTW, We'd love to hear from anyone who rode with us on the Playa. We had a blast and met tons of wonderful folks who returned multiple nights in some cases to be with us!
Any stories or reminiscences would be very nice to hear.
Visit our dedicated Ice Flo project site to meet those involved and to browse tons of picts as we labored, often blindly but with much enthusiasm, on our huge beloved behemoth baby:

Wed, November 7, 2007 - 12:35 PMAlthough I didn't meet you guys, we were camped right near you - we had the Dolphin art car and the tree art car, as well as the Arctic Force Air conditioning...
I often used the parked, yet lit up, car as a guide to find home camp. It was a "beacon in the night" so to speak.
It was beautiful. -

We tried really hard to somehow connect and visit other camps like yours with arctic themes.
Unfortunately, with the chaos of the Playa and mutant vehicles, we hardly got to do anything except drive around and manage party people on the dang thing (which was plenty!).
Glad to hear we were useful as a beacon!

Mon, November 19, 2007 - 11:47 AMI'm always amazed at the incredibly obvious and interesting things I miss when I'm out there! For instance, everybody kept telling me about the furry polar bear sculpture with the two penguins with suitcases. I never once got to see it.
Amazingly, it was set up, I think, at about 3:30 Esplanade. I was camped at about 2:30 and would have been driving by it repeatedly. Sheesh!
